Web Apps & PWAs

Web applications from idea to launch: portals, dashboards, booking tools and internal software, also as installable progressive web apps that work offline.

Based in Hamburg, Germany, working remotely with clients across Germany and abroad, in German or English.

A web app does work for its users: it books, calculates, manages, connects. It runs in the browser, needs no installation and works on every device. As a progressive web app (PWA) it can also be installed like an app, work offline and send notifications. I design and build both, from the first sketch to the running product.

Examples: what web apps do

  • Customer portals: accounts, orders, documents and messages in one place.
  • Dashboards: numbers and reports from several sources, readable at a glance.
  • Booking and configuration tools: appointments, quotes, product configurators.
  • Internal tools: one shared tool instead of spreadsheets and email chains.
  • MVPs: a first version of a product idea that real users can test.

PWAs: app features from the browser

As a PWA, a web app installs to the home screen, works offline, sends push notifications and updates without a store review. Whether that’s enough or a native app is the better choice is decided before anything is built; the questions behind it are in PWA or native app?.

Scope: what’s included

User roles and core flows, UX and UI, a modern frontend, API, database, authentication and payments where needed, roles and permissions, GDPR-compliant data handling and monitoring. Hosting, database and backups run in your own accounts; I help you set them up. I work in short iterations: a clickable prototype first, then working features you can try out early.

Result: what you get

An app your users understand without training, a codebase that can be extended, and documentation for whoever works on it next.
