Servers fail, updates break things, accounts get compromised and people delete the wrong page. A site that was fast at launch slows down as content, scripts and traffic grow. Backups make every incident reversible; monitoring makes sure you hear about it first.
Backups: tested, not assumed
Files, database, uploads and configuration on an automatic schedule, kept as several versions in separate, encrypted storage, and restored to a test environment at regular intervals. The storage runs in your own accounts; I help you set it up. Why a backup only counts once it has been restored is covered in Backups: a copy counts once it has been restored.
Monitoring: what gets measured
- Uptime: checks from several locations every few minutes, with an alert when the site, the checkout or an API stops responding.
- Speed: server response time and the Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS), from real visitors where possible.
- Errors: failed requests, broken pages and JavaScript errors users run into.
- Certificates and domains: expiry dates, so nothing lapses unnoticed.
Response: what happens on an alert
An alert comes with context: what failed, since when, from where. I look into the cause, fix what I can and explain what happened in plain words. Recurring problems get a lasting fix. A short regular report shows uptime and speed over time, so you can see what a new feature or campaign changed.
Result: what you get
Backups that provably restore, alerts before customers complain, and someone who acts on them.
